ArtAlley--That one had me curled up.
I fly fish mostly (no arrogance about it just enjoy it the most). I have fished New Zealand, Alaska, Tasmainia, Belize, Christmas Island, Canada, and Florida Keys. All were great! My biggest fish was the 120 pound tarpon I mentioned. I have fished for marlin but never got one.
Best eating fish I ever had was an utterly fresh King Salmon in Alaska, they served me a monster steak that I wondered how I could possibly eat it until I tasted it and then I cursed them for not giving me more. I regularly get blackened dolphin (dorado) in the Keys and you have to go some to beat that.
I would love to fish for the pike, musky, walleye, and tuna I have seen mentioned here. Tuna are the best of the best for sheer power and endurance. Just haven't gotten after them, being a fly rodder is likely one of the main reasons. I can't handle a 500 lb. tuna on my tarpon fly rod.
All the Best
Dan
