IBM to release earnings tomorrow.

"We expect IBM to meet or beat our fourth-quarter
earnings estimate of $2.45. IBM is executing across
its portfolio of businesses and the rebound in
hardware appears to have legs," Milunovich said.

He believes PC sales drove earnings higher in the
recently-completed quarter, and expects the segment
to remain strong amid the year 2000 upgrade cycle. Milunovich also noted
that IBM will provide infrastructure hardware as deeper penetration of the
Internet requires investments in equipment.

IBM's high-flying services business will likely add support to the results, as
analysts expect that business to continue to grow at a rate above 20
percent.
