If you've been reading for a while, you also know that we have a habit (bad?) of butting in on each other's posts when we are interested. And here I am, doing exactly that!

What a fascinating question!!! Asking it implies that you felt rejected in some way by her saying that. You're her type for friendship, apparently, but not for a physical relationship. Did you want more? Is that why this may have bothered you? That supports the idea that a male/female relationship inevitably has somewhere in it the sexual element, whether it is acknowledged or acted upon. That gets pretty confusing when the expectations may be different.
