Jinping,

that was just a short explanation slanted to towards buying options, you can sell (write) them, too. Get you a good book at your local library. I'm not an expert or familiar with even a small percentage of the strategies. Your broker can send you a little book on standardized options that you have to sign saying you've read an understand the risks before they open you an options account -- it's not bad but it doesn't describe any of the tactics of traders or hedgers either.
