Trench Results Demonstrate Continuity Of Gold Grades At Longyear Results from an initial 415 meters of trenching at Energold's LONGYEAR concession in the Dominican Republic show mineralization to be consistent over greater than 200 meter widths, with multi-gram gold values over distances of up to 25 meters. The zones of mineralization remain open at both ends of the trenches and along the long axis. The target at Longyear is a near-surface oxide gold resource within 3.3 km of the Pueblo Viejo mine, which produced 5 million ounces of gold from its now depleted oxide resource.
Two northeast trending trenches have been constructed within the northwest trending 300 x 700 meter zone in which trench, pit and outcrop samples average greater than 1 gram of gold per tonne.
The gold in rock anomaly lies within a larger 700 x 1600 meter gold in soil anomaly overlying strong IP/Resistivity anomalies. The two trenches, with lengths of 185 and 230 meters, are subparallel and separated by a distance of approximately 125 meters. The trenches were sampled with 5 meter long samples over the entire length of each trench. The zone remains open to the northeast and southwest beyond the limits of the trenches as well as along the elongate direction of mineralization.
Trench A returned values of 3.20 grams of gold per tonne over 20 meters (with one section in this interval grading 5.64 grams of gold per tonne over 5 meters) and 2.27 grams of gold per tonne over another 20 meters in a central section which averages 1.81 grams of gold per tonne over 90 meters.
A single interval in the northeastern part of the trench contains 3.87 grams of gold per tonne over 5 meters. The entire 185 meter trench averages 1.20 grams of gold per tonne.
Trench B, established alongside a road cut, returned values of 2.35 grams of gold per tonne over 25 meters and 2.30 grams of gold per tonne over 10 meters in a 115 meter section at the northeast end of the trench which averages 0.96 grams of gold per tonne. The entire 230 meter trench averages 0.60 grams of gold per tonne.
These new trench results demonstrate continuity of gold grades in the southern portion of the main zone, perpendicular to the long axis of the mineralized zone. The higher grade, multi-grain gold values occur within gossanous zones containing 20 to 50% iron oxide. The trenching program is continuing concurrent with drilling.

Sampling was continuous along the length of each trench; each sample is 5 meters in length. Sample weights average around 10 kg. The trenches, which average 1.75 meters depth, were dug by hand and then mapped and sampled by a Canadian geologist. Samples were dried and crushed; a 0.5 kg split taken with a riffle splitter was sent to Chemex Labs in Mississauga, Ontario for analysis using standard preparation and assay techniques. Gold was analyzed by fire assay with atomic absorption finish. A program of check sampling is being undertaken to ensure the reliability of the data.
