Internet Fever now has Chicken Soup

the ATHM/XCIT deal did one thing for the
whole sector. It put a dollar figure on
a Search/Portal site, that before could
not be distinctly valued. Therefore all
assessments of Internet stock value are
being realigned to fit the ATHM/XCIT kind
of valuation model. That model has made
LCOS an obvious bargin, and that's why
we are here buying this stock; so when
if any deal is consummated, we should be
on the profitable side of the price curve.
Thousends of Wall Street types now have
the ATHM/XCIT formula to apply to their
spin on other Internet holding valuations,
and it's only that dynamic that is now
introducing uncertainty in the inet's.
as for Yahoo falling from $400, the
ATHM/XCIT deal only illustrates how
Oppenheimer should have never giving
it that target price to begin with.
Every short I know is watching EBAY
due to the float increase. This is
a special story that has nothing to
do with overall Internet Euphoria.
IMHO Faber's report is not saying
anything we did'nt know 3 days ago,
and drawing unsupportable conclusions.
