INTC will be a strong force in propelling internet equipment in the future.
That will be a good buy on dips (when it becomes enough of a value), my suspicion is that it will fall the least and last in a severe downturn but is at least less overvalued than say MSFT.
To make any significant committment to the market, I think a good heuristic is to have all the large caps come down to a good value with respect to their earning potential. It seems that even though the oil sector is beaten down, the large caps in that area are still not a good value (because of possibly indexed funds holding them) whereas many mid/micro caps are at very attractive values with respect to their book value. However, if the market is perceived risky and over-valued, it does not make a lot of sense to invest in the small/mid caps because they can go down further and take time coming out of a bear....
