I understand what you are saying, but so far friendships with men haven't worked out well for me. I am a very warm, nurturing person and I'm sure that gets mistaken for romantic interest occasionally. My husband has said for years I am too friendly, and in some circumstances I'm sure he is right. It just makes my life so much easier if I don't have to worry about the sexual component in my friendships.

I also think infidelity is a little easier to slip into than you do. So many of the people I know have gotten divorced, frequently over the issue of infidelity. Affairs only require planning, forethought and expertise if you're a perpetual cheat. Most of the people I know who have been unfaithful, slipped up with someone they were close to already and the two just happened to be thrown together at a propitious time. At least that is the way the incident gets related to me.
