I own both companies at substantially lower prices and like them very much as long term holds in a diversified biotech portfolio. Isis focuses on anti-sense technology which I must admit I don't understand very well. However its business and research principals are all highly thought of. Vical is a gene therapy company that is in the midst of publishing major results in several medical and research journals. I bought it at around 10/share and it's jumped up substantially from there. However, it's a great long term bet in my mind. I am a very patient long term holder of both stocks. I will be buying more on any severe correction in the price of either as long as the price drop isn't caused by business or research problems within either company.
