CD: ASCT - Here is my position on the ASCT saga and accompanying rumor.
We are all familiar with the ASCT rumor. However, it is just a rumor and I have no way of verifying the information...therein lies the risk. I have been holding ASCT since early december in anticipation of the news and have reduced my position as well as increased my position through this period. It was my initial hope that we would have seen some action by the end of the first week of January....it did not happen.
I have no anticipated completion date for this rumor and am typically not a patient trader, and frequently in situations such as these, sell on a whim when my patience wears out. However, I am still holding and will reevaluate my position at the end of January .... this does not mean that anything will happen by then and serves only to satisfy myself into holding a bit longer.
Any information I have, you have .... and very soon after I receive it at that. I do not buy/sell before sending out any information that I receive. If I sell, you here will be the first to know. But, I may sell strictly because my patience runs out, and for no other reason.
I am not the source of this rumor and am just in the "information loop" on this play and am really in the same position as you all are.
There are plenty of reasons to hold this company even if a deal is not inked, but I doubt that would convince me to stick around for a number of months.
I have no reason not to trust the source and they appear to be nothing if not honest and open.
I am very optimistic on this deal, but that is just me. I do not want to mislead anyone as to the prospects or the news. Again, you receive the same news that I do.
There are many risks involved and this may never happen, this is the choice that each of us must weigh. Just the fact that I opt to invest in this particular rumor does not make it more likely to happen other than the fact that the information relayed seems believable and feasible.
I do not want to hype this rumor and would prefer to discuss, or answer any questions via PM. Open discussion on topics of this sort can delay the deal.
Good luck to all
