Roger, Forward looking business issues were not discussed as well it
should be. It would make me an insider. Being new to MSU, and having
a background in semi-conductor design and processing, it was clear
to me that the technology in their set top box press release could not be made a reality without the use of 'state of the art' chip
technology. Integrating current production technologies of several
chips into a single chip function requires a lot of silicon real
estate. There's 2 end solutions. One using small architectures of
.5 micron or below chip designs. ( The smaller the tougher to build)
Another would be multiple chips in single package. This solution requiring leading edge packaging technologies. Heat becomes a problem. Bottom line. My concerns have been put to rest. Your question: "does the future look promising?" If they can bring their solution to production levels, I think they'll be a really tough
competitor in the market place. Just speaking from past experience. FWIW, one of my customers at TI was GIC. I worked on wafer yield
improvement on one of their mixed signal designs. I never knew the
end function, as I didn't have a need to know, but certainly
developed my own opinions. My best response. I own MUCP shares.
