Please don't patronize me with statements like:
Keith, you obviously don't know much about politics.
and
If you want to talk politics, educate yourself first rather than pollute this board with your zealous support for the liberals.
There is lots of disagreement on your points from lots of politically well-educated individuals.
Tax cuts generally benefit everyone, but the media likes to hype it's effects on the rich. (The rich pay the most taxes so naturally the rich benefit the most, but the bottom line is, EVERYONE benefits.)
No, everyone does not necessarily benefit. Depending upon how the tax cuts are structured, those at the bottom, who already pay no taxes (or very little) may see their government benefits dry up, as less money is available to pay for them, and thus they will lose. If tax cuts always benefit everyone, then the logical conclusion would be that there should be *no* taxes for anyone, since that is the biggest tax cut that could be given. Don't generalize about the effects of a tax cut.
Also, 4 out of the top 5 political contributors gave to the Democratic Party. And I'd bet that 4 out of the top 5 (maybe all 5) political contributors *also* gave to the Republican Party. Many of the large contributors contribute to both parties. |
