Hello Dave & Vaughn,
I would like to caution both of you that indiscriminate use of the G-10 field plots is risky. It is very important to know the petrology of the host rock. As you may, or may not be aware, type II kimberlites (orangeites) have a much higher G-10 population of sub-calcic garnets and they are also much deeper in the field trending towards J-10, and yet are totally unreliable with respect to indicating potential for grade. Many type II kimberlites have outstanding Calcium VS chrome garnet plots and are very low grade or barren. Once again, the Ca-Chrome garnet plots can only be relied upon in the context of the petrology of the host rock. I believe that if companies are not providing this kind of information, it could be very misleading to potential investors or shareholders.
regards,
teevee
