All good points. Thank you, Victor.

For reasons in my last post to Z Pancho, I'll have to be looking hard in Chile. I've always liked VCO. I'm still kind of amazed, and pleased too, that I can purchase a bottle of Concha y Toro locally. Though I am no conisseur, and rarely imbibe, I have sampled what to me taste like some very good VCO products. (Disclaimer: I am not a shareholder at this time and receive no reimbursement from Vina Concha y Toro.) <g>

Appears also that the Dutch Royal Ahold will make a grab for the remaining shares in Santa Isabel -- the Chilean supermarkets chain. When Ahold took the remainder in Argentina's Disco, a month or so ago, Disco's stock price jumped nearly 50% in only a couple of days.

As for Argentina, the people will cut the mustard comes hell or high water. But I believe you're right, Victor. The consequences are indeed going to be felt hard.

About Japan: I mentioned over on SI Hong Kong that it appears, if only to me, that those touting Japan at the moment are looking for substantial deflationary consequences from all that's been going on.

Saw also last night where the BOJ has called in an American firm to consult on how better to run that agency. A move seen as very uncharacteristic due to the very hush-hush nature of the BOJ.
