tony you are right. they all have other forms of dram available right now. why? because there is such a high demand for rdram there is not enough to go around yet. remember rdram is new. the original projection that got us all to buy rmbs shares was for 5% of the pc's sold this year to have rdram inside. samsung said today they expect rdram to make it into 30% this year. SEOUL, Jan 21, 1999 (Asia Pulse via COMTEX) -- Hyundai Electronics Industries (KSE:00660) aims at boosting the sale of its next-generation memory chip Rambus DRAMs to US$400 million this year, the company said Thursday. Hyundai will spend $170 million to complete the mass-production system for Rambus DRAMs. Hyundai said it will supply a commercial sample of the 72-M direct Rambus DRAMs and module products to its big-time partners incluiding Intel and IBM. The latest product boasts 0.22 micron in band width and is about 20 percent smaller than existing products - the smallest in the world - the company said. Hyundai plans to deliver four million 72-M Rambus direct DRAMs per month during the latter half of the year, one million 144-M Rambus DRAMs per month during the third quarter and a working sample of 256-M Rambus DRAM during the fourth quarter. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
