Wanted: Analyst to cover TDFX. No experience necessary but must know basic arithmatics. At the present all 3Dfx analysts fail this humble requirement. Looking at the earning estimate for the quarter and the year, they are $0.05 and $0.85 accordingly. Given that there are only 4 quarters in a fiscal year and in the first 3 the actual earnings are $0.68, it stands to reason that (a) if Q4 eps = 0.05 then FY eps = $0.73 or (b) if the FY eps is to be $0.85, then the Q4 eps should be $0.17. I think I should quit my job and become an equity analyst; less work (just follow the first call estimate and randomly adjust) and hell of a lot more pay. Sun Tzu
