Same price difference over a one year period is quite different from moving in tandem day-to-day. If your hedges are short-term, you had better check short-term relationships rather than how much the respective stocks went up in a particular year. If anyone has this data for hedging purposes, I'd be interested to see stats (R's, t's, etc) on movements of intel with respect to other tech stocks. Would do it myself if I had daily price data.
