Matsushita & panasonic are of course one & the
same. Matsushita produces many consumer elec
devices which are marketed in the US under the
panasonic brand.

I believe that they are also a major battery
packager like Energizer. As they seem to only
be producing cell phone sized cells, it is quite
conceivable that they could also end up packaging
the Vlnc laptop batteries & offering a full line of
Li-Poly re-chargables under the Matsushita brand.
