Jay,

I have a cable modem and was a previous dial-up user. My ISP cost approx 39.00 per month (modem provided). I no longer need the extra phone line $11.00 per month and the dial-up service $19.95 per month. An added benefit of the cable being near my computer is the feed to my TV tuner card. Surfing with TV reception can't be beat. Most importantly I can surf at speeds that make the experience very enjoyable minus the frustration of disconnects and find the new service much more reliable (important to a trader). As more people become aware of the true cost and super performance, this will be the choice IMO.

Gotta try cable
