Here is the current data on Gann's January Effect:

W.D.Gann:
"Watch January 2nd to 7th and 15th to 21st; watch these time
periods each year and note the high and low prices. Until these high
prices are crossed or low prices broken, consider the trend up or down."

Market Time High Low

Dow 01/02 - 01/07 9759.44 9089.00
Dow 01/15 - 01/21 9499.14 9124.02
Dow 01/22 - 01/22 0000.00 0000.00

NasDaq 01/02 - 01/07 2369.55 2192.68
NasDaq 01/15 - 01/21 2474.30 2276.80
NasDaq 01/22 - 01/22 0000.00 0000.00

RUT 01/02 - 01/07 432.03 420.54
RUT 01/15 - 01/21 435.30 420.04
RUT 01/22 - 01/22 000.00 000.00

For the Dow, the highs are getting lower and the lows are getting
higher, an inside day. So when we cross below 2192.68, we will be in
a down-trend until we cross 9759.44

For the same period, NasDaq actually shows higher highs and higher
lows, which would suggest an up-trend. When the price falls below
2192.68, Nasdaq will be in a down-trend.

The Russell 2000 is showing higher highs and lower lows like an
outside day. When the price drops below 420.04, the Russell will be
in a down-trend.
