"as if this is not bad enough, my system crashed about four times so far do to "Illegal Operation" thingie." okay, after reading your post, i'll stop complaining. <gg> do you have a utility suite, say like symantec's norton's utilities 3.0? man, the very first time i ran their "windoctor" scan, it found 54 windows errors! i was then prompted if i wanted norton's to fix automatically (duh!), and ever since then (and with periodic maintenance scans), my puter has really run smoothly. really cut way, way down on the illegal functions and general protection faults. fwiw and good luck! mark
