Barnes & Noble Reconsiders IPO of Barnesandnoble.com, BW Says

New York, Jan. 21 (Bloomberg) - Barnes & Noble inc. will revamp plans next month
for an initial stock sale of its Internet bookseller site Barnesandnoble.com, Business
Week reported in its ''Up Front'' column, citing unidentified people close to the
company. The online-division offering, scrapped in November after Bertelsmann AG
bought 50 percent of the site, could be more attractive as Barnes &
Noble completes its acquisition of Ingram Book Group, the U.S.'s biggest independent
book distributor. In addition, Bertelsmann wants to fold its online European bookseller
into Barnesandnoble.com, which, if completed, could make the IPO even more
attractive, the magazine said.

Barnes & Noble said last month that U.S. antitrust enforcers sought additional
information about its proposed $600 million purchase of Ingram Book.
