Rob,

Great job summarizing the call. Glad to hear about the improved book-to-bill ratio. I invested a two hours in another cc and just didn't have time for DMIC. Thanks!

A couple of questions: When they announced the reductions last year, I had some concerns about whether they would overdo downsizing of the sales staff in the field and whether there would be problems gearing back up once economic recovery, particularly in Asia, began. Did Chuck speak to these issues? How rapid are the improvements in market conditions? Are they seeing a slow, steady increase or something more rapid? These are fairly chronic side-effects of downsizing and I'm wondering how the company will deal with them... Also, thanks for noting the successful ramp-up of the sales force on the product line; this was mentioned in the MAS-amalgamation disclosures as a problem to be overcome and I was wondering how that was going.

Fasinating comments about Altium's capability to operate in the same freq. on backhaul and access... How likely is NEC's entry into broadband competition? (I'm assuming NEC currently has no such product- sorry to be ignorant on this). NEC would be a serious, well-capitalized competitor and could put a dent in the expected $40-100M in FY 2000 Altium sales....

Again, thanks very much for the great cc notes!

Ben
