The Riddle of the Sphinx

Looks like the veil of silence has once again descended over Ampex and this time even the Imagio organization has been muzzled.

Whatever precipitated the last official announcement we must be grateful for. Unlike some board posted "suggestions", at least what we do hear from Ampex can be relied on.

However, agreeing with one Yohoo poster, I think the the announcement is only a preliminary to much more substantive official discussions and presentations to follow. The time frame is any ones guess. The content nature has already had sufficient speculation.

Technically, price action appears very positive, relatively low volume narrow range consolidation in a high pull-back area. Absent any news before that time, price reaction to the quarterly report, in addition to it's content, may give a good indication of who is holding the majority of the floating shares.

Since this is possibly a very early phase in what will perhaps be a substantial markup in share price, my take is to hold long positions and do not use stop loss orders. A resting stop order will act as a perfect bulls-eye target for the locals to gun for. If one must use stops, then let them be mental stops written on a piece of paper.
