>> XLNX is taking share. <<

I always have trouble understanding why anyone thinks this. Look at
these quarter by quarter revenue numbers matched up:

ALTR XLNX ALTR/XLNX
Mar96 137 150 91.3%
Jun96 116 150 77.3%
Sep96 117 131 89.3%
Dec96 127 136 93.4%
Mar97 146 152 96.1%
Jun97 166 161 103.1%
Sep97 162 150 108.0%
Dec97 157 148 106.1%
Mar98 157 154 101.9%
Jun98 161 152 105.9%
Sep98 164 155 105.8%

If I were to guess, I'd say that ALTR has been taking share from XLNX
for quite some time -- not the other way around. There's some random
fluctuation in the numbers, but the trend is quite clear.
