As much as I would like to see it myself Jag and as much as it would make a lot of sense, I dont think is gonna happen.

Novell Execs have made it clear a few times that they are not interested in being bought out. In fact I mentioned a similar idea this week to one of them that a Novl/IBM merger would be so logical. He had one response "there is only one problem with your logic - we dont want to be bought out - and why would we when we are getting everything on track?".

So Jag, unless IBM has plans on doing a hostile take-over or if all that the execs have been saying were lies, I dont think its gonna happen.

By the way, someone on this board (and I think it was Paul) stated that Novl has a Poison Pill that would discourage takeovers. Correct me if I am wrong on that ppl.

If IBM or anyone buys out NOVL it would be a very big surprise to me. They dont want to be bought out.

Just my thoughts.
