I finally performed a test on Clik! to determine just how long the NiMH battery on the Clik! drive will last.

Yes, I know - I've got nothing else better to do at 5am.

I determined that the Clik! drive could completely fill six (6) Clik! disks before the battery was completely discharged. Since I used an 8MB SmartMedia flash card each time, I transferred data from the flash card to the Clik! drive 5 x 6 = 30 times. (Remember, 8MB x 5 = 40MB or the capacity of the Clik! disk.)

Using the SHQ mode (1280x960, low compression) on my digital camera, I can fit 18 pictures on the 8MB flash card. Thus, I was able to transfer from flash card to Clik! drive a total of 30 x 18 = 540 pictures on six Clik! disks.

Here's how I did it: I took 18 pictures in SHQ mode. Once the flash card was full, I took out my 10-pack of Clik! disk and began filling them up, one after the other, with the same set of pictures until the drive would not copy any more pictures.

While filling up the 6th and last Clik! disk, a small amber light on the NiMH battery came on - indicating low battery.

regards,

Lipo
