Corel Computer snapped up by HCC
...Corel Corp.'s decision to sell most of its computer unit to Nepean-based Hardware Canada Computing in exchange for a 25-per-cent stake in HCC puts a spotlight on one of this region's more intriguing technology companies.

HCC -- which employs about 70 people and builds, resells and services computers on behalf of corporate clients -- was ranked by Deloitte & Touche Technology last year as Canada's 14th-fastest growing technology firm over the previous five years.

...HCC president Mike Mansfield confirmed yesterday that his company was negotiating to acquire at least two other firms when Corel chairman and founder Michael Cowpland came calling two weeks ago.
