I may be wrong, and this may be sexist, but I've always thought men are much more inclined to jealousy than women. Sure, lots of stories of women having at each other with their fingernails, but I've a strong suspicion that this is in large part transference.

But your story illustrates a point I made earlier: a casual affair is one thing. Falling in love is another, and it's bound to be much more hurtful to the ex-partner. Dunno...maybe it could happen to me, too. I haven't had that experience. Sorry that you did.
