Larry - Re:"URL Article"

This was pretty much a bull sh*t article. The guy talked about embedded CPUs and RISC. He never mentioned the fact that Intel's i960 is one of the largest volume RISC chips for the embedded market.

However, the NEC/MIPS variant will replace this as the volume leader - simply because it is designed into the Nintendo 64 game machine.

He also discussed clock speeds, etc. Rather a lightweight argument.

Competitive performance at competititive prices in humongous volumes is what it takes to lead in this market.

Guess which company this applies to? (Hint - It's not Exponential Technology.)

Another question - what Processor/Platform that runs Windows NT will now be the target for Silicon Graphics Software?

Yet another Question - what Processor/Platform will run Apple's upcoming NEXT operating system?

And yet another question - What Processor has built in SMP support for multiprocesor server applications?

The author never addressed these issues. It was a lightweight cream puff article.
