CyberHighway.net Gives USRF National Presence
BATON ROUGE, La.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 22, 1999--Internet Media Corporation (OTC BB: USRF - news; pronounced you surf) announced today that it had executed a definitive agreement to acquire CyberHighway, Inc., a Boise, ID-based ISP servicing over 25,000 customers in 80 cities, including Boise, Phoenix and Scottsdale, AZ, Portland, OR, and Salt Lake City, UT, in 11 states. The acquisition of CyberHighway, Inc. is being made solely for shares of USRF stock. The closing of the acquisition is scheduled for January 29, 1999, and management of USRF is aware of no impediments to the closing.
''We just accelerated our growth plan by about two years, with this acquisition of CyberHighway,'' said David Loflin, President of Internet Media. ''CyberHighway is a mature, profitable ISP with a 'foot-print' in some 80 cities. We have already developed a plan for installing our Wireless Internet access system in each of these cities during the coming months. We intend to keep the current management of CyberHighway in place,'' Loflin stated.
Founded in 1995, CyberHighway is a full-service ISP, offering its services, directly and through licensees, to residential and business customers in each of its markets. Additional information regarding CyberHighway can be obtained by visiting its web site, www.cyberhighway.net.
USRF's Wireless Internet access technology provides several compelling advantages over existing Internet service. It is completely non-reliant on a hard-wire or cellular telephone system, requires no FCC license, and provides constant Internet access from any computer -- stationary or mobile -- within the company's transmission area. The technology employs a two-way modem, developed by Internet Media.
