HyperDynamics (OTC:BB HYPD)
HyperDynamics is like a MIS director for small to medium size businesses, and they handle everything from E-commerce (very hot Internet sector right now!!!) to in-house networking and solutions. I stumbled across them as I was comparing technologies with USRF. HYPD has a similar technology (they manufacture the hardware out of China) which they OEM through a wholly owned subsidiary called Wired and Wireless, ran by a dude named Ted Tarver (you can reach him at 713.660.9771, also the # for HYPD's CEO, Kent Watts). Ted's phocus is on the hardware sales almost strictly. They are not pumping a bunch of cash into the technology and they are not betting on the highly competitive US market to make it. Instead they work primarily in Mexico, Central and South America, and use the technology to bring cable TV and the like to countries with zero to none on the infrastructure side of the equation. They sold over $700k worth of hardware in Mexico alone in 1998.
Aside from Wired and Wireless, the core business of HYPD is in MIS direction, E-commerce, problem solving and they can even design and build proprietary networks and Intranets. Senior mgmt confirmed today that they anticipate hiring an additional 10 service techs in the short term, which could provide in excess of $500k in BOTTOM LINE PROFITS for 1999!!! (I think we all understand how important it is in Corp Amerika to have computer expertise. The same thing will also become more necessary in the 3rd world very quickly, and they are capturing that market already…see above).
When I spoke with Mike Watts (the CEO's brother) earlier today, he was reluctant to say anything about any contracts to be announced, but as usual the phatt man did his best to put the heat on for the skinny. All I will say it look for some VERY STRONG NEWS out first part of next week, and several $500k-$1mm projects in the works. They are tight with their info, and definitely not the type of company that puts out huge press releases before closing the deal
