You are quite welcome, DownSouth.
Actually, I have only bought books and steaks through the web so far but I do go 'window shopping' to get a sense of CPQs exposure at the various web 'stores.' If web shopping is going to be big, I assume any company that has its products sold through a number of sites will be at an advantage.
In terms of CPQ, I now see them selling on three fronts: regular stores, their web site, other web stores. In terms of marketing, I do think this gives them advantage over Dell and Gateway. Dell only sells their own products and has no real world stores [to the best of my knowledge]. Gateway sells direct, now also having real world Gateway stores, where people can see their offerings then place an order [I went in one with my father this past weekend]. Compaq covers every marketing option available.
