I disagree with your analysis on this Scumbria.

I agree that there are major privacy concerns with the on chip security for private citizens.

However for corporate markets and e-commerce for more expensive items I think it's a pretty big deal. For example in my business we can download software that costs $50-$250K to try out for evaluation. With these hardware keys the license management become no problem. Also banking transactions for more than a few thousand dollars will almost necessitate this kind of security.

IMHO Intel should have inrtoduced this technology into it's server/workstation class CPU's such as Xeons and forgot about it for the general consumer market. But that's just my opinion.

AMD could make some hay, by spreading some FUD on this, but I doubt if they ever would.
