I generally prefer not to do it against a strong trend in either direction.


On the 19th you shorted the gap open, and the market was in a strong uptrend, starting from the lows on the 14th. Was there other factors that caused to short the open? Or, in your experience, do you fee gap ups more reliably close then gap downs? I could certainly make a case that the risk factor is higher buying gap downs, if they don't recover a real sell off could catch the unwary...
