First of all, MP3 is a compression scheme-not a recorder. PAC which was developed by Lucent/Bell Labs, has more years of R&D behind it than MP3. There was recently a concert on the internet using Lucent's Watermark encryption. Their technology is tried and true.

Internet music recording, which has recently become a hot topic, is only one of the uses for EDIG's technology. EDIG entered into a contract with Lucent to develop a prototype recorder for Lucent's clients. As far as I know it's the only music recorder that EDIG is developing. I'm not sure that Lucent would allow EDIG to sell recorders using their compression to other companies. So the real question is whether Lucent has the ability to competitively market their internet recorders. If they fail we still have Lanier and Intel going for us. Then again, Intel may have difficulty in getting orders from their clients. Anything is possible.

If you really want to dig up some dirt you could find out if EDIG has a competitor for the Lucent deal. Either way I seriously doubt that you'll be able to buy back your shares at .03.

I suggest that you call e.Digital yourself. The cost of long distance is cheap theses days. Anything you get from this board is second hand, and I'm sure you are the type of investor who would rather hear it from the horse's mouth.

PS Betamax came before VHS. That plays both ways on your argument.
