And yes, the DIXON - so similar to the K6-3 - should outperfrom the Pentium II if clocked at the same rate. But Intel will delay that from happening until Coppermine.

Intel marketing is engaged in a very difficult juggling act, trying to keep PII/PIII prices up. And they have the added complication of a pit bull biting at their heels.
