Nuinsco's Lac Rocher mineralization and geology appear very dissimilar to the Ovoid or any Voisey's Bay orebody (some similarity maybe to our uneconomic Red Dog--remobilization along a fault-zone are always heart-breakers) IMHO.
Nuinsco is reporting mineralization in layered noritic rock, with platinum numbers which suggests Stillwater-Nye Basin-Montana-style (basal norite) mineralization to me rather than Voisey's (troctolite) or Ragland-Thompsen (komatiite) Ni-mineralization. Northern Abitibi greenstone belt layered gabbroic-anorthosites (Bell River and Dore Lake Complexes) are also of Stillwater's +2.7-billion year age. A Quebécois friend recommendeded I look at Quebec's Quenonisca Survey, DP-85-13, he claims the INPUT conductor is "interesting". Why Nuinsco used IP/R to follow up apparently on INPUT-EM is somewhat puzzling to me--(EM almost always gives better drill targets for massive sulfides--that's why I wouldn't allow DFR or our Archean geologist-friends to even attempt IP/R while I was running the geophysics at Voisey's).
Yeah, the big (and little) boys were sending me Email about this one, all day yesterday. My boys and girls are reporting that a faxable plan and three cross-sections are being prepared by Nuinsco and may be done today. Call their IR to get on the fax list.
Lotsa magmatic nickel-platinum dudes & dudettes are watching this one develop. Congrats to Nuinsco and their shareholders. Full assays and step-out drilling are required to evaluate this pretty puppy.
