Scrapps,

I don't mean to sound sceptical about X2 but I read somewhere that unless a user currently is able to connect his 28.8 modem consistently at 28.8Kbps with his ISP, then there is little likelihood that ke will be able to get the most out of the X2 technology. I think the source was Boardwatch Magazine, which is still very bullish on USRX. Is this statement credible in your opinion? My USRX 28.8 modem normally connects at either 19.2 or 21.6Kbps. One in a hundred times I connect at 28.8Kbps. I'm a bit confused about what this technology will do for ME. Don't the phone lines have to be SQUEAKY CLEAN to get the max out of the X2 technology? If they're not squeaky clean but average, will I still get a noticeable improvement, if not 53Kbps? If not, there could be lots of disappointment out there because expectations are running pretty high.
