Yes but the Reagan era was the start of what we have today - a two tiered society where the wealthy became much more wealthy vs. the lower ranks of the economic spectrum which stagnated or declined. I dont know what caused this divergence in society exactly... if it was a result of some policy etc. The lower groups are excluded from home ownership in many areas of the country, this is not a good thing, and the wealthier groups are moving away from institutions such as public schools (which btw have also been gutted by republican policies) such that no one attends public schools anymore except those that cannot afford any alternatives. These trends are all very negative.

The internet is one invention that provides excellent opportunities for all and is having a positive affect on the lower socioeconomic groups.
