What's the URL of the ATHM portal?
Are there more than one?
I'd like to ping it through my ADSL service, traceroute it, and
see some of these browser glitches you refer to.
Can you ID the vendor of the cablemodem you are using?
Is it MOT, BAY, Com21, or what? The OEM's website might have some tech support info for you.
Who is your cable supplier?
I'm curious because TCI is so viciously terrible at actual service that I view them as a significant threat to ATHM's rep. Never underestimate the depth of TCI loathing in at least some areas. Here, a cable operator appears to be ready to let you walk rather than help you out. That's surely not Amazon service.
In my dreams ATHM and AMZN merge (the dream does not reveal why) and buy Dell, Gateway, or MU ... creating a new paradigm characterized by total PC solution, great service, pay-per-read books, online movies, software libraries, and new media experiences of every sort.
How about pay-per-use software? Lots of stuff I won't pay $50 for, but would gladly pay 1 cent per use. |
