Let's talk about the three ECD technologies that will hopefully dominate or at least largely share in the vast potential marketplace.

First 'Phase Change'. Stan invented it decades ago. He sent it out and licensed it to some of the world's leading industrial and electronic
companies. It has taken them all these years to finally develop a market and manufacture their great products. It has just come on the market place and still they fight and quibble and refuse to accommodate each other for fear that one or the other of these giant companies will gain an advantage over the other. The markets are vast. Small streams of royalties are now beginning. They could become rivers in the near future but it is not ECD managements choice. Sony, Matsuchita, Toshiba, etc, will make those decisions. STAN kept the company alive even without a market place.

Photovoltaics have not made money for any of the manufacturers of the many systems and manufacturers. . They get closer each year to becoming cost competitive with fossil fuels but they're not quite there. Our cells are now testing on the space station MIR. They are light. strong and cost competitive or better than their competition. As a result of global warming and fossil fuel dependence the dam appears ready to burst with United Solar among their great beneficiaries.TGhe potential markets are vast. There is and was nothing ECD management could do to speed the process of the emergence of Solar energy. STAN kept the company alive even without the market to support the technology.

Lastly, The NiMH battery. Two new battery technologies have revolutionized the worlds rechargeable battery industry. Lithium ion and Nickel metal hydride. ECD is the recognized inventor of the Nickel metal Hydride technology and has licensed almost every major battery company in the world. ECD only last year was granted the patent rights in Japan where the vast amount of the NiMH batteries are made and only last year did the Japanese companies agree to pay royalties for batteries made in Japan. Now ECD is manufacturing along with partners and joint ventures the large NiMH batteries which in a short time may revolutionize large rechargeable battery industry actually replacing most of the lead acids. There is no current market for volume EV or hybrid batteries but there almost certainly will be within years or even months.Ford, BMW and other giants of industry spent over a billion dollars trying to invent the large rechargeable battery. They failed and abandoned their Sodium Sulphur battery two years ago. ECD developed their NiMH battery in a few years spending a relatively small amount of money. STAN has developed this battery even when there has been no market to support it.

No one disagrees that Stan is a great inventor . In fact he is a recognized genius. The disagreement comes as to whether he is even an acceptable business man. I believe that with the technologies he has developed and the ability he has had to keep this financially unsuccessful company alive for forty years he has shown an ability to manage as great as his ability to invent.

This is really the wrong company for bottom liners. This is a company for risk takers who are hoping for the home run. But when you take that big swing you very well might strike out. Risk means just that, Risk. My advice is don't go into a game that you don't know how to play if you are frightened of losing.
