Thats the theory Bob,
Most of the pipes found to date have been fairly recent ones but if CANADA IS LIKE MOST DIAMOND AREAS THERE SHOULD BE SOME MUCH OLDER ONES OUT THERE. They may not be as easy to find but could have been heavily erroded preglaciation and deposited placer diamonds. Areas with sedimentary rocks may thus contain old river channels with diamonds in them. Its another type of deposit or target to search for.
regards Walt
