Jim, The short seller's name in LTV case is Leon Greenblatt. He sold 180 million shares ( I was wrong when I said 250 million) which is 56 million shares more than all LTV share exist at that time. He made a cool $27 million in his operation. For detail, see worth.com Bo Le
