I thought Intel was already doing something like this. Some retailers were re-marking chips to show a higher speed, so Intel rigged the processors so that they could not be clocked at a higher speed than
they'd been marked at manufacture. Anyway, I thoght this had already been done. Of course, this news came to the chagrine of us overclockers.
