Madame! (Drawing myself up to highest level of hauteur). It is embarrassment I do not comprehend. I understand shame all too well.

There are certain actions which, if observed, are simply ignored. Thus, they did not occur. For example, if one of your bosoms were to pop out of your decollete, you would simply pop it back, and no one would turn a hair. Thus, my neighbors simply have never seen me going out to get the newspaper in my nightie.
