CWEI closed @ 18 1/8, +3/8, Bid 17 3/4 X Ask 18 1/8.....Vol 62.7K

After breaking through the 50 day moving average on Tuesday, CWEI has now rebounded to once again get back on the 25 day moving average line. Looking at the chart, CWEI has been very successful at staying at, or above that line. I watched CWEI this morning and it jumped all the way up to 18 1/2 X 18 3/4 and then a wave of selling hit--could be that some of the people that jumped in on it at 17+ took a quick profit and traded back out. It was disappointing to see it lose most of the gain, but the main thing is it was up for the day. Oil was up smartly today and is again very close to $25 a barrel--January averaged about the same price as December--it will look good on the bottom line come first quarter earnings time. The Spot Price of Natural Gas remains very close to $3.00. The Spot Price of Oil is the same, or very close to the March futures price shown below.

Try the 10, 25, and 50 day moving averages and see what you think:

March Oil $24.87, up 0.40 (CWEI received $18.78 in Q1 1996)
March Gas $2.49, up 0.05 (CWEI received $2.29 in Q1 1996)
