This Digital Me business is a good one for the banks. This is what they already do as your trusted agent with your money. Novell is not likely to be perceived as a good place to store your digital valuables. This reminds me of the debates we have on the Checkfree thread where the portals and the financial institutions are the possible places where individuals would go to pay their bills online. The banks may or may not be able to get up to speed to develop this type of business while their bricks, mortar and teller business disappears. To develop this rapidly, Novell needs to put others in this business, not try to go into it on their own. Not enough time to build this themselves. Maybe this is what Eric is thinking when he tells us about the RedSpread push into the ISPs.
