You really don't want to see me talk about something that really bothers me! :) Like AOL when used as a ISP like at Maw in Laws house or other places. But does that mean I don't play their stock? No! Just like ETrade I play it because of what the uninformed masses think not what I know to be true about it. So far I was refering to ETrade the service not ETrade the stock, and they are two totally different things! They have positioned themselves to benefit from the InterNuttyness! Just like the rise we saw in Oct of 97 and fall, and now again with the most recent runup, silly people would like to believe it is justified, but ask anyone right now who just got involved in the 100 dollar range what they think. I learned a long time ago not to try to stop freight trains with spaggetti noodles, grab a handle and ride! AOL if you would be allowed to see the records suffers from something industry people refer to as churn, ETrade does too! However as long as advertising and the fact that the facts aren't known by users till it is put to use can keep people signing up at a greater rate than people wise up and leave, the party continues. With the massive growth both internet and online brokerage wise this can continue for some time! (have you seen any of the current use statistics and projected growth figures for these 2 industries?) Many people unhappy with both of these services are reluctant to leave at first for many reasons, such as aggravation of the actual change (configuration and such with the ISP, and paperwork and time with a brokerage change) but after a user learns more they eventually realize it is worth the trouble! I have played both of the stocks we are talking about a good bit both long and short, and will continue too, that is what the game is all about, and I play this game for a living. I'm not a armchair investor. I just will continue to share what I know to be fact with anyone willing to listen! And it just so happens you caught me during a time I was miffed about the fact that ETrade does not always represent your order to the market! They whore it for their own personal gain! So its a triple edged sword, its horrible for the service once people realize what they are doing while great for the stock at the same time and what will ultimately be their downfall. IMHO
Happy Trading
