Hope you're right about 200 by Apr. It seems a lot of folks here like AOL. I was 200%(all the margin they would give me) in AOL since the day Greeny lowered rates the last time in NOV. AOL was then at 150 presplit. I got stopped out and went 100% into EMC at 87 and just went all the way out on margin again on MSFT at 155. I figured that if PC demand was so much greater than expected maybe MSFT might beat expectations a little more than usual and we might get a 2:1 split. I haven't really followed the trial very closely but I assumed that the worst was over. Would someone please comment on whether this assumption is correct and where they see MSFT going?
Right now there are not many bellwhethers I know of that analysts are increasing estimates on. MSFT is one. EMC,AOL, and NOK.A all report next week and I believe all will exceed est. and are split candidates. Dell might beat the whisper # in Feb but I'm not counting on it. I was 200% DELL when it got spanked after the last report which is why I moved to AOL.
Has anybody ever compared EMC to MSFT? I think they are the MSFT of enterprise storage and the good news is unlike MSFT and INTC the gov't has never heard of EMC!
Warning to guys like me using margin: Usually after I make a ton of $$ and am extended totally out on margin, I wind up giving a big chunk of it back due to a correction and the resulting margin call. I can buy 'em right but haven't yet figured out when to take profits and walk away.
Regards,
Lee
